Description:
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Project Management Office is seeking a short term (12 month maximum) contractor. This resource will be utilized on a project within DOT. The main responsibilities of this position include the following: perform in role of Program Manager, life cycle management, prepare and conduct status reporting and executive briefings, resource management, risk management and time and cost management. This position will manage project timelines and lead the technical effort. This includes assigning and directing the work of staff as assigned including contractors and vendor management.

REQUIRED:
10 or more years of IT project management experience
5 or more years of IT Program management experience
Working knowledge of application development in a variety of technical platforms
Planning and management skills, including scope, estimating, budgeting and resource allocation procedures
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Proven leadership skills including team development and leadership
Positive interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects
Strong knowledge of Program & Project Management processes and industry best practices
Demonstrated experience managing application development teams
Microsoft Suite experience (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent organizational and presentation skills
Proven experience mnanaging multiple 3rd party vendor projects
Proven experience managing large projects (>$5M)

PREFERRED:
Strongly prefer PMP Certification
Experience working in Project Management with the State of North Carolina
Experience working with SAP
Experience working with multiple government agency stakeholders
