The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 12 month) contractor assignment for a contractor resource to serve as Cúram Applications DBA on the Oracle Database Platform for North Carolina’s Health Benefit Exchange (HBE) within NC Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) Program using Cúram Software. This position will have primary responsibility for managing the Cúram application schema, design, and extensions within the database, in development, test and production environments. Position will provide database technical support, tuning, application administration and consulting. In addition to Cúram application database support, the individual will provide support for Oracle, Oracle Dataguard, and Oracle Enteprise suite in an AIX enviroment. 

Duties include working with developers to identify and refine data requirements, database design, database migration planning, configuration, performing backup and recovery, monitoring database performance, and reorganizing database structures as needed. Creation and modification of test and production data, base schemas, and a primary role in the creation of database migration plans will also be required. The position will also be involved in development of procedures for effective database use and must ensure standards are met.
 

Required:
* Must possess demonstrable skills with Cúram Software and database schema and Oracle or DB2 database software including the ability to configure, monitor, tune, backup and restore Oracle database servers. 
* Must have the ability to author code in SQL, PL/SQL and Unix/Linux and be proficient in one or more shell scripting languages. 
* Experience in a Cúram software development environment
* Must have onsiderable Oracle or DB2 skills
* Must have the ability to work co-operatively in a team, plan and coordinate the work of others, communicate effectively both orally and in writing and establish/maintain effective working relationships.

Highly Preferred:
* Extensive experience configuring and tuning Cúram databases in a Cúram DBA role in either Oracle or DB2
* Proficiency in shell scripting, strong planning, designing and optimization skills, Oracle 11g knowledge, and SharePoint

This position will be responsible for reviewing business requirements for client notices, assessing current notice capabilities within the Cúram product, and evaluating design logic within NC FAST to access notice templates. In addition, this position will modify, design, build and test notice templates for use within NC FAST by configuring Cúram to generate notices as described in the business requirements. The Medicaid Smartcard project team will focus on the implementation of a vendor solution package which will affect three DHHS divisions (Medical Assistance, Information Resource Management, and the Office of Medicaid Management Information Systems).
