Description:
The Division of Employment Security (DES) is seeking a contractor to provide highly technical consulting services to support new initiatives and provide on-going support of critical LAN systems. New initiatives include a technology refresh of the Domain Name Service (DNS) and replacement of the network management software. On-going support is required to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve highly technical problems at the DES Central Office, Remote Services Center, and 90 Local and Branch
Offices.
Critical LAN systems include: firewalls, core switches, distribution switches, content services switch that manages access to DES web servers, switches that support DES production database servers, DNS, and DHCP. Additionally, this position will be expected to coordinate troubleshooting efforts with ITS affecting ITS-provisioned WAN services. The selected contractor will be assigned to the DES Network Engineering Technical Support Team and collaborate with the Help Desk, and with systems administrators supporting mainframe computing, UNIX host platforms, and Windows/Novell server host platforms.
This Task Order will support multiple assignments using knowledge, skills, and abilities that are demonstrated in the following network technologies:
•Cisco Systems 6500, 4500, 3500 series switches
•Local office LANs using Cisco Systems 3500 series switches
•Packet Capturing and Protocol Analysis
•Content Switching Technologies - Cisco Application Control Engine
•ASA series Firewalls, VPN services, AAA Services
•Network Management Applications: Ciscoworks LMS, DHCP, DNS, Nagios
•Internet Content Filtering and Proxy Services using Websense,
•802.11 Wireless LAN Controllers, Access Points & Bridges

REQUIRED:
•DES requires the proposed candidate demonstrate 5 years or greater experience supporting complex, fast Ethernet, Layer 3 switched/routed LAN’s. Thorough knowledge and
experience with configuring, supporting Cisco Virtual Switching System environment.
•DES requires the proposed candidate demonstrate a minimum experience of 5 years experience supporting ASA firewall, VPN Concentrator, TACACS administration.
•DES requires the proposed candidate demonstrate a minimum experience of 3 years supporting DNS/DHCP environments.
•DES requires the proposed candidate demonstrate a minimum experience of 5years supporting network management applications and protocol analysis and packet capturing
tools.
•DES desires the proposed candidate demonstrate 3 or more years experience supporting IP Telephony & VoIP operations on a complex data network.
•The contractor will also participate with the on call pager rotation for network support on off hours and weekends.
