Description:
The NC Department of Health and Human Services is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 12 month) contractor assignment. The selected candidate will act as the Testing Lead to plan and oversee all aspects of IT software testing effort for multiple projects and project test teams within the NC FAST Program.
Responsibilities & Duties:
•Working with design architects, business analysts, and developers to ensure product features required for automated testing are incorporated into the core product architecture
•Reviewing specifications (business, design, functional and technical) for technical accuracy, feasibility, clarity, and testability
•Establishing and documenting product test requirements, test plans, test strategies, and performance test goals
•Planning and creating comprehensive functional, integration, regression and performance test cases and test scenarios to ensure that product requirements are met
•Documenting and analyzing test results to ensure that the product meets functional and non-functional requirements
•Leading overall test plan execution
•Managing daily tasks of test team members
•Coordinating activities and establishing priorities
•Ensuring all testing deliverables and deadlines are on time
•Reviewing defects and test results verifying testing requirements are met
•Verification that all NC Fast software applications are thoroughly tested end-to end and are fully operational and free from defects
•Scheduling daily defect reviews
•Promoting the use of consistent standard software testing best practices, procedures and methodologies among testers
Required:
•Proven experience and thorough understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle as well as leading the software testing effort and implementation of large complex business applications and high visibility projects.
•Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies/ implementing software testing best practices for functional, UAT, regression, and performance testing; understanding of release and version control, as well as setup, configuration, maintenance of software test labs and environments.
•Experience supervising system/integration, regression and performance testers in accordance with industry testing standards and practices that support an iterative development cycle
•Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work efficiently
•Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to maintain effective working relationships with management, developers, project staff, and end users
•High degree of business and technical knowledge and experience in all aspects of IT software testing
•Working knowledge of, and hands-on experience with the HP Mercury Test Tool Suite including Quality Center
•Quick Test Pro, Performance Center and LoadRunner.
Preferred:
•Prefer Cúram Business Certification
•Working knowledge of social services benefit programs.
