DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Solution Architecting
• Participates with management to develop implementation and
maintenance strategies, processes, procedures and best practices for BO, to include integration with the State’s existing SAP BW solution and other disparate systems and data sources, within and across network boundaries.
• Design a best practice information distribution and sharing solution
to include: web services, sFTP, background and scheduled jobs, website and portal integration, email, alerts, etc.
• Design best practice BO security solution working within the
existing SCEIS framework.
• Review Hardware specifications and the current SCEIS landscape.
• Create a high-level implementation roadmap for the above solutions.
• Detail the roadmap verifying the approach and strategy.
• Install or upgrade and configure BO SW as needed in order to support
the above solutions.
• Develop test plans to validate the solutions and components once
implemented.
• Develop an upgrade roadmap to maintain the existing solution while
effectively leveraging the latest capabilities.
Development
• Work with IT and Business teams to define, design, configure,
develop and implement BI solutions using the SAP BW/BOBJ suite of reporting and analysis tools.
• Leverage SAP BW/BOBJ suite to build effective and high performance
data visualization solutions for state executives and agency leadership.
• Create data extractions, data transformations, universes, WebIs ,
WSDLs, Dashboards, RDBMS and queries to satisfy identified reporting requirements.
• Design test plans and conduct unit, integration and user acceptance
testing for the above.
• Extract data from non-traditional resources such as spreadsheets and
flat files.
• Create federated universes to allow joins and report across
disparate legacy data sources.
Training
• Assist in the development of BO training curriculum, guides,
checklist, courses etc.
• Formally provide process and technical knowledge transfer via paired
programming, peer coaching, written documentation and classroom instruction.
• Develop user community adoption and utilization recommendations and
best practices.
General
• Provide effective and timely oral and written communications to
management, peers and users.
• Identification and escalation of issues and risks to management in a
timely manner.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
Within project schedules and other defined deadlines, in adherence to SCEIS architecture, and working under the direction of the SCEIS Business Warehouse (BW) and Reporting Team Lead, candidate will provide functional and technical business reporting services related
to:
The installation, configuration, tuning and administration of SAP Business Objects (BO)
The analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation and support (full SDLC) of SAP BO software (e.g.
reports), specifically related to SAP’s finance, materials management, and human resources areas.
• Major components of this project will include the deployment of BO
Enterprise, Data Federator, Universes (single and joined), Scheduling, Broadcasting and Web Intelligence.
• This position requires analyzing system and business requirements,
SW installation and configuration, service patch administration, testing and data warehousing strategies.
• Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of SAP’s BO SW functionality,
specifically with experience utilizing this SW in a public sector or large multi-divisional organization.
• Candidate must have extensive knowledge of BO performance monitoring
and tuning.
• Candidate must have extensive knowledge of SAP’s Business Warehouse
(BW).
• Candidate must provide formal written documentation and peer and
user training.
