Description:
The NC Department of Public Safety is seeking to fill a short term (approx 6 month) contractor to provide computer systems analysis services in the role as enterprise systems analyst, assisting in meeting challenges presented due to the recent migration of the Department of Crime Control & Public Safety with the Department of
Corrections and the Department of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention to form the Department of Public Safety, migrating solutions currently used by lines of
business previously part of these departments addressing challenges created due to the increased size of the new department.
Previously administration staff and business users worked in a physically close proximity of each other. Current solutions were designed based on this business model. This allowed for rapid solution development but did limit the ability to extend solutions to support multiple locations. Additional challenges have been created as a result of new technologies to include mobile devices and cloud computing. In order to update current solutions to satisfy these new migration and technology challenges and due to lack of internal resources and technical expertise, the need of aide from an outsourced individual will expedite and facilitate the completion of these changes with the least amount of impact to current business solutions.
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring current Crime Control & Public Safety (CCPS) internal business solutions can support the new Department of Public Safety (DPS) business needs and will work closely with leadership to understand and develop requirements for additional needs created by the migrated department and implement those defined requirements.
Required Skills:
•Knowledge of .Net C# & object oriented design concepts
•Experience developing advanced custom SharePoint 2007 and 2010 webparts
•Knowledge of relational database development concepts
•Building Public Corporate websites and collaboration solutions using MS SharePoint 2010
•Experience with designing and deploying Public facing websites – Internet, Extranet and Intranet sites
•Experience with SharePoint 2010 content management and publishing
•Experience with HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
•Knowledge of Microsoft Access databases and VBA language
•Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Report Server 2008 (SR)
•Knowledge of Enterprise Messaging and Data Orchestration
•Understanding of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 and CRM 2011
•Understanding of SCRIBE Insight is a plus
•Meets project deadlines and likes working in a fast paced environment
•Communicate with both technical and non-technical staff to support analysis, design, testing, and troubleshooting of project issues as related to usability and design
•Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work as a team player
•A college graduate possessing 1-3 years of work experience
•Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment, handle internal clients with tact and diplomacy, and maintain composure and production quality under deadline pressure
•Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills
Preferred:
Knowledge of NC Department of Crime Control & Public Safety business
