Network Engineer (CCSP/CCIE) with Cisco ASA firewalls, VPN, Cisco ACS, CSM, Avaya, and government experience

The NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 12 month) contractor assignment. The purpose of the position is to design, configure, test, monitor, and maintain the NCDOT computer network security infrastructure hardware and software, primarily NCDOT and ITS managed Cisco ASA firewall
infrastructure and Cisco ACS and CSM tools. The selected candidate will assist the Network Services Network Security team providing advanced technical production
support primarily for firewall services and will interact with employees at all levels in all DOH, DMV, and other DOT offices across the State as needed to design network security solutions and provide an advanced point of escalation for network security issues.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
•Advanced experience with enterprise and data center security policy design and deployment using Cisco ASA firewalls
•Proficient operational configuration and support of site-to-site VPN solutions using Cisco ASA firewalls
•Experience installing, configuring and operating Cisco ACS 4.x and 5.x
•Experience installing, configuring and operating Cisco Security Manager (CSM)
•Moderate familiarity with all network technologies and equipment, particularly data center LAN environments
•Experience with structured change management processes
•Ability to manage tasks and meet schedules
•Must have good organizational and English communication skills, written and oral
•Must have excellent customer service and teamwork skills
•Willingness to work overtime as needed
•Willingness to accommodate occasional regional travel
PREFERRED:
•Experience in and NCDOT or Government environment
•Currently active CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, or CISSP certifications, expiration within past 2 years
•Currently active CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert) Security certification or expiration within past 5 years
