Mainframe Administrator with DB2, Telon, COBOL, CICS, IBM ESB, BMC, Cloverleaf Interface engine, CoolGen, backup/recovery, tuning, and unix/linux scripting experience  

Location: Raleigh, NY
Duration: 12month

Responsibilities Include:
• Providing senior level technical leadership
• Conducting in-depth evaluations of existing automated death system software
• Applying project management skills in leading work efforts
• Identification of costs for installation and customization
• Providing business process analysis, planning and be a development and maintenance resource for other team members
• Addressing specific system technological and operational problems
• Recommending effective solutions
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Candidate MUST have a minimum of (5) five years of Experience in the following areas:
• Familiarity with structured systems development and programming languages
• IBM ESB product suite administration
• Performing Telon Administrative functions 
• Installation of Telon product upgrades
• Experience planning, defining, organizing, recommending and documenting database modifications in multiple Version 7.0 DB2 subsystems.
• BMC DB2 Utilities
• Upgrading and troubleshooting a Cloverleaf Interface engine
• Upgrading CoolGen
• Upgrading CICS
• Uplifting older versions and technologies to newer versions and state-of-the-art technologies
• Monitoring projects for quality assurance

Candidate Must be Proficient in the following areas:
• Use of DB2 utilities for backup, restore and maintenance of large Version 7.0 DB2 databases
• Providing database administration support for Websphere applications.
• Performance monitoring and tuning of large DB2 mainframe database

Other Requirements:
• Project estimating, monitoring technical activities
• Mentoring and training others
• Excellent communication skills
• Thorough understanding of Unix/Linux systems, shell scripting, and support for add on products
• Minimum of Six (6) years of current or recent programming experience and design of large scale IBM mainframe based systems using DB2, Telon, Cobol, and CICS
• Minimum of Six (6) years of current or recent experience in the design, programming and maintenance of large DB2 mainframe databases in a high transaction (on-line and batch) environment
