QA Tester with MS Office/SharePoint, QA, Bug Tracking and finance/tax/government experience
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Works with Project Management, Business Analyst and Developers at all stages of
SCBOS development to promote quality within SCBOS.
2. Works with Project Management, Business Analyst and Developers to coordinate and
develop the testing strategy and plan. Included in this would be estimating the time,
effort and resources needed to complete the test in the approved time frame.
3. Defines and develops the Test Plans and Test Cases, to include defining the testing level
and cycles needed to assure adequate testing.
4. Executes Test Plans and Test Cases, including all aspects of testing. Including
preparing data, implementing and executing test (automating test where appropriate),
monitoring test results and checking exit criteria.
5. Monitors progress on Test Plans and Test Cases. Including adjusting the Test Plan and
Test Cases based on test results and progress.
6. Producing various reports needed to monitor and control the testing.
7. Must be able to work with Business Analyst and/or Business Users to reproduce and
document bug reports. Must be able to clearly document the steps needed to
reproduce.
8. Keeps project leader(s), team members, supervisor, and stakeholders informed of work
progress. Coordinate with the SCBOS Developers to correct all defects identified.
9. As needed resolves application system incidents reported by users.
10. As needed serves as business user liaison with technical staff.
11. Work with Department of Revenue users to conduct User Acceptance Testing.
12. Assists users in training as needed.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills, especially in dealing with situations involving multiple
interacting systems or complex operational processes.
Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint.
Ability to produce work on schedule and meet specifications with minimal supervision.
• Ability to deal effectively with the needs of customers, team members, vendors and
management at all levels of the organization.
Flexibility to work extra hours or outside normal work hours if necessary.
• Demonstrated expertise in the areas of of information management science techniques
and/or methodologies, or analysis of information management theories, practices and
procedures.
Ability to work independently under pressure.
Expertise in structured testing methodology, including conducting Systems Test and User
Acceptance Test.
Expertise with financial transaction systems and data.
• Expertise in IT life cycle development, including requirements analysis, design,
development, testing, and deployment.
Expertise in serving as a technical resource for business users, including one-on-one and
group supplemental training, problem resolution, and coordination with technical support
organizations.
Ability to report to project management in clear and concise form, including all relevant
information in a timely manner.
