SAS developer with ETL, SAS, Data architecture, modeling, data warehousing and medical/pharmacy/Healthcare/insurance Experience

Description:

The Client is seeking a short term (approx 4 -5 months ) contractor assignment to provide Computer Systems Analysis Services. As a member of the project team, this 

position will work with the Business analyst to develop Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) SAS programs to extract data from our operational data sources and load into 

designated reporting data marts for Business Intelligence(BI) reporting. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

•Design and implement the dimensional data model for our medical, pharmacy and eligibility data files using SAS datasets

•Create and update the system design documentation for the data marts

•Perform in-depth data discovery to validate source data integrity constraints

•Develop change data capture processing

•Perform in-depth data profiling

•Develop specific exception handling processes

•Work with business analyst and users to gather requirements and interpret these requirements into technical specifications

 

Skills:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements 

•Bachelor’s in computer science

•Minimum of (4) Four years of ETL and Data architecture experience working with large data sets

•Minimum of (3) Three years of SAS programming experience utilizing Base SAS

•General knowledge of SAS statistical functions

•In-depth understanding of dimensional modeling concepts

•In-depth understanding of the data warehousing life cycle

•Extensive SAS programming knowledge

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

•Healthcare insurance industry knowledge

•Strong understanding of healthcare claims processing
