Description:
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking to fill a short term (approx 2 - 3 month) contractor assignment at The Murdock Developmental Center (MDC) of an advanced level systems engineer proficient in Active Directory and VMware to evaluate and recommend revisions in existing VMWare and facility Active Directory server installations, and to install and configure Active Directory and DNS services on new hardware for the Novell to Windows Server platform migration and support of integration with DHHS DIRM Active Directory network.
A Candidate to perform and complete the following tasks:
•Review existing VMWare ESXi installation and prepare operation procedures for host and virtual machine backup, restore
•Prepare conversion software requirements, software list, and conversion procedure guide to replace ESXi with ESX
•Review existing Active Directory installation and prepare and implement necessary modifications to accommodate new AD domain
•Review existing standalone server with Active Directory installation to improve user profile integration and server performance
•Install Windows Server 2003 R2 for Novell Replacement
•Install and configure Windows Server 2008 R2, Active Directory, DNS
*** The scope of work may require three months of availability ***
Required:
•Minimum of (5) five years of field System Engineer experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting and tuning Windows Server 2003 R2,2008 R2 and MS DNS Services.
•Minimum of (4) four years of field System Engineer experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting and tuning VMWare ESXi and ESX virtual server management products.
•Demonstrated ability to prepare and produce procedure/task lists, guidelines, and specification statements with specific product identification and version/release information.
Preferred:
•Microsoft Certified System Engineer, VMWare Certified Professional
