Description:
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 12 month) contractor position. The Information Security Engineer (Directory Services) is responsible for the development, design, architecture & security of enterprise directories in order to serve & support various organizational needs including but not limited to authentication, authorization, domain services, rights management, federation services, certificate services, & lightweight directory services.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
•Collaboration with infrastructure, network, database & application teams
•Ensure identity & access management solutions are provided & business applications needs are served.
•Research & evaluate new technologies with respect to directory services, identity & access management
•Produce white papers, proof of concepts, & demonstrations reflecting the value of technology for business
•Create advisory and strategy documents, develop & documents\ implementation plan
•Develop & document procedures for others to integrate/incorporate these technologies into other systems for use by others.
•Participate/ support implementation as they are introduced & provide technical expertise to troubleshoot & solve problems as needed ensuring proper function of 

system.
•Collaborate w/ team to provide technical expertise, status updates & coordination to ensure successful integration of tech. utilizing methods such as: meetings, breakout sessions, inter-project communication, emails; inter-project communication, emails etc.
•Updates & informs upper management about security architecture concerns and decision points
•Estimates the size of the effort required to complete the research project or proof of concepts based on limited requirements
•Ensure the technical manager understands timeframe & effort required.
•Provide IP & Name Resolution Services: DNS architecture and administration, internal & external facing, AD integrated, appliance sw, WINS architecture & administration support
 
Required:
•BS degree in related field, degree may be substituted with equivalent combination of education/experience
•Minimum of (8) eight years of IT experience with at least 5 years of experience managing a global AD environment
•Minimum of (5) five 5 years experience working in access controls or other relevant information security experience & utilizing core security principles

Technical Expertise:
•Microsoft domain services, rights management, federation services, certificate services, & lightweight directory services
•Identity and access management technologies, methodologies & concepts, & integration with Microsoft Active Directory or Light Weight Directories
•In-depth technical experience with Microsoft server technologies; Operating Systems, Database &BI, Cloud Computing, Middleware, Business Productivity, & Management & Security

Experience working with:
•computer hardware; operating system software; desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas; design principles and applications; scripting (Vbscript, Powershell); Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop

Familiarity with:
•Regulatory & legal security standards & requirements such as FERPA, Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI DSS & HIPAA/HITECH
•Security concepts & best practices
•Knowledge of common information security management frameworks (ie. ISO 2700x, ITIL, COBIT
•Strong communication skills both verbal & written 
•Time management, problem solving, & decision-making skills
•Self motivated team player – excellent team bldg skills

Preferred:
•Ability to speed on complex topologies & interdependencies across a wide range of technologies
•Active Directory Services, 2003 or later forest/domains, 2008 base domains & complex group policy architecture & administration.
•Exchange 2003/2010
•Intermediate to advance knowledge of various network technologies & concepts (VLANs, converged fabric, VPN, IPSec, firewalls, etc)
