Description:
The Department of Commerce (DOC) is seeking to fill as short term (approx 6 month) contractor assignment to provide IT Training Services 

Responsibilities & Duties:
•Learn and understand the operations of custom software applications developed by the Commission’s IT development team.
•Develop curriculum, written training materials and multimedia presentation materials for end user training on these applications. 
•Develop multimedia training materials for use by end users for self-paced independent learning. 
•Identify commercial curriculum and training materials appropriate for use in training end users on off-the-shelf software used by the Commission.
•Schedule training classes on both custom software and off-the-shelf software.
•Deliver hands-on training classes to individuals and groups of up to 6 people, and demonstration-based training classes to larger groups. 
•Provide follow-up instruction and end-user support as needed on the use of these applications
•Develop training assessments and training plans for end users to facilitate growth in their effectiveness in using automated systems used by the Commission.
 
Required:
•Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a software trainer
•Experience developing curriculum and training materials for custom software
•Experience delivering commercial training classes on the following off-the-shelf software packages: Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2003 and 2010, Microsoft Access, Adobe Acrobat, Windows Internet Explorer
•Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, Techsmith Camtasia or other full-motion multimedia capture software and/or other similar tools to develop live training and presentation materials and multimedia self-paced learning materials
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills
•Independent; self-starter having proven experience working successfully in a team environment.

Preferred:
•Bachelors or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, education and training or a related field
•Microsoft Certification as a Technical Specialist, Technology Associate, Trainer, or Office Specialist
•End user desktop support experience in a Microsoft Windows environment.
