QA Tester with defect tracking, Selenium, Java, java script, html, SQL and government experience

Description:
The Department of Public Safety, Division of Juvenile Justice is seeking a short term contractor to work closely with the application development team in support of new enhancements to our statewide North Carolina Juvenile Online Network (NC-JOIN) system. System enhancements will be required to meet specific requirements to collect and report juvenile justice data for the JJPDA Compliance Project.
The selected candidate will work in the capacity of a software Tester and will be responsible for:
•Ensuring the new IT applications and all code changes are made in compliance with specifications for all maintenance and major releases through a series of validation and verification tests.
•Participating in all design team and prototype meetings.
•Reviewing all business functional, security, migration, and reporting documentation.
•Creating test plans and invidual test cases, executing various phases of testing using manual and automated test scripts.
•Reporting and tracking applications defects and revisions.
•Writing test summary reports.
•Develop automated test scripts using the Selenium automation tools
Required:
•BS degree in computer science or related field.
•Minimum (1) one year of software testing experience.
•Knowledgeable in test/plan and test case development
•Experience with Selenium automated test tools and regression testing techniques.
•Knowledgeable of software requirements and user stories.
•Experience with testing web-based applications and coding standards.
•Excellent verbal communication.
•Experience working within a project team environment.
Preferred:
•User training and customer support
•Knowledgeable in programming scripting languages (i.e. Java, javascript, html).
•Experience with databases and SQL statements.
