NC A & T State University is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 4 month) contractor assignment to provide IT Support in Systems and Operations in the department of the Division of Information Technology. The selected candidate will manage and support the Unix and Unux environments and will be responsible for programming and assisting in the daily operations of the Unix and Unux operating environments.

Education:
• Minimum 2-year technical degree and at least 4 years experience or a 4-year Bachelors Degree and at least 2 years experience in the field of information technology and/or computer science
Knowledge, Experience:
• Knowledge of Oracle Solaris and X86 server level hardware.
• Current expertise/formal training in Oracle Solaris and Red Hat Linux administration.
• Technical knowledge of SAN infrastructure.
• Hands on system maintenance experience
Ability To:
•Install patches/software and enhancements
•Write and speak effectively
•Work independently as well as in a team environment
•Document work and processes.
•Research problems and present solutions
•Quick thinker in critical situations
•Calm demeanor in stressful situations.

Preferred: Strongly Recommended:
