Windows Administrator with Clustering, and install/config/tuning experience of MS SQL Server, JBoss, Java/JDK, and SAS

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Publich Health is seeking a short term Operations and Support staff (approx. 4-6 month assignment) for making network operational changes to the NC-CATCH data dissemination system. The selected candidate will make modifications to existing hardware and software needed to bring the NC-CATCH system into a more traditional development, test and production scenario. The environments include a clustered server environment. This effort is component of the CDC grant Strengthening Public Health Infrastructure for Improved Health Outcomes. 

General activities will include but are not limited to the following areas:

• Install software in order for environments to be used by programmers and statisticians.

• Load and restore data

Set up Windows 2008 servers

• Install and configure MS SQL Server 2008 R2

• Install and configure JBoss

• Install JDK

• Install and configure Base SAS and SAS/Stat

• Work with a Java programmers on additional configuration of the JBoss application 

• Documentation of installation and configuration process

 

Required:

• Experience installing and maintaining Windows 2008

• Experience deploying JBoss

• Experience installing, configuring, and tuning MS SQL Server 2008 R2

• Experience installing and configuring SAS in Windows Server 2008

• Experience in a clustered application servers environment

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
