z/OS DB2 DBA with package versioning, binding, reorg/runstats, performance and monitoring tools upgrade, dba admin tool and performance monitoring experience

Location: Columbia SC

Duration: 12 weeks

Positions: 1

1) Provide effective solution in development/test environment for programmers to work in same code base that uses same DB2 database on multiple projects simultaneously. 

2) With time remaining provide some DB2 training for our DBA team. Examples are 

• How to define space for new DB2 objects

• Repair objects in multiple extents

• Performance Monitoring

• Using advanced features in DB Admin Tool

• Better understanding of Reorg, Runstats/review our DBA admin jobs and offer suggestions on what needs to run

• How to upgrade current performance and monitoring tools to current DB2v9 release.

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

• 6+ years experience as DBA for IBM z/OS DB2 v9 

• Experience with DB2 package versioning

• Experience with DB2 binding

• Work closely with others in a team environment

• Able to work independently, self-motivated

PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

• Proven work record of solving this problem. 

• Not looking for someone to do OJT for themselves.
