UNC of Charlotte, NC is seeking a short term (approx. 5 - 6 month) assignment for an Information Technology Program Manager. The selected candidate will:
. Direct and lead project teams using a project management methodology and lifecycle process that results in the successful completion of projects defined by time, budget and scope constraints; meeting project objectives and customer expectation while reducing and/or limiting project risks.
. Directs and manages all aspects of program management and implementation to include project planning, monitoring, and reporting.
Including but not be limited to:
. Identification of project goals and objectives . Preparation of documentation associated with the purchase of goods and services . Project resource requirements and estimating . Preparation of a detailed project plan . Design and technical architecture review . Test planning and management . Implementation planning and management . Quality Assurance management . Service/operation management . Security Review . Risk management and mitigation . Development of project metrics . Post implementation review . Facilitates communication of the program status . Issues and relates information to the project managers, project sponsors, stakeholders, steering committees and affected university constituents through various media. Promotes change by communicating to and involving others.
. Accountable to executive sponsors for schedule, budget, and quality of all program elements.
. Acts as the communication conduit to executive sponsors and program steering committee and conducts periodic briefings/status updates.
. Escalates decisions to executive sponsors as necessary.
. Undertakes creating strategies for contingency planning and risk mitigation.
. Develops RFPs for external services.
. Performs team assessments and evaluations.
. Manages all changes and issues with the stakeholders.
. Defines requirements and plans project lifecycle deployment.
Required:
. Must have a good understanding of the project management process . Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to motivate teams.
. Must possess effective leadership, organization, presentation and customer service skills.
. Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field . Minimum 10-15 years of project management experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously . Minimum 5 years experience coordinating and/supporting IT business processes.
. Scheduling and budgeting experience.
. Excellent grasp of the English language both written and verbal.
Preferred:
. PMP Certification or equivalent
. Experience with Post Award Research Administration, Grants Management systems and Financial Systems . Higher Education experience including working with Enterprise Software Systems.
