DHHS Division of Public Health - NC Immunization Branch is seeking a short term (approx. 6 month) Instructional Designer to assess the training needs and develop training solutions to be used for on-site and off-site training to support NC Immunization Regisitry (NCIR) system users. The position will work as an integral part of the NCIR Training Team responsible for the training of NCIR users. The team will consist of instructional designers, web graphic designers, and technology professionals responsible for the development and dissemination of learning solutions. Our objective is to develop a high level of competency in the use of NCIR. Job functions may include, but will not be limited to:
1. Develop a thorough understanding of the NCIR functionality 2. Gather NCIR content from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) 3. Develop training content for web-based, e-learning and computer- based solutions 4. Develop and edit content to support overall learning goals and objectives 5. Review and revise content based on feedback from internal reviewers and stakeholders 6. Test all developed course and properly document problems for issue resolution 7. Develop instructor and participant support tools for all developed training solutions
Required:
* Minimum of four years experience designing and developing instructional materials with at least two years of CBT/WBT/multimedia training development experience
* Expertise in development of blended training for self-paced, on-line (computer and web based) and paper based training
* Experience in all phases of the development process as well as functionality testing methods, course and learner evaluation methodology utilizing a pragmatic approach to learning
* Experience working on teams to design, deliver and develop training
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Expertise with basic computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), computer-based, and e-learning tools
* BA in education or a related field or a combination of training and work experience in a related field
* Skills in Captivate, Adobe Connect, Dreamweaver and web page design are essential
* Minimum of four years experience designing and developing instructional materials with at least two years of CBT/WBT/multimedia training development experience
* Experience in job and task analysis, which resource applied to the design and development of training programs
