Description:

The Department of Transportation is seeking a short term (approx. 12

month)

assignment for a contractor to provide Desktop Support Services assisting microcomputer users in the planning, procurement, installation and maintenance of microcomputer hardware and software. The selected candidate will provide hardware and software support to PC users within an assigned territory and will be responsible for installing COTS products, In- House applications, product optimizing, ghosting, installation of PCs, printers, scanners and other PC peripherals.

 

REQUIRED:

. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP . Knowledge of Mac OS X . Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 . Knowledgeable of in hard drive imaging processes . Experience with Exchange Email and Calendar with Outlook client . Experience with imaging COTS applications . Ability to manage tasks and meet schedules . Must have good organizational and communication skills, written and oral . Must have excellent customer service and teamwork skills

 

PREFERRED:

. Experience with Trend Micro Anti Virus . Experience with SAP . Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Bentley Microstation, Oracle Client . Experience in a DOT or Government environment

 

State does not reimburse for commuting expenses or relocation expenses for anyone. Parking/travel expenses to/from main site & within Raleigh area to be in hourly rate.

. Reimbursements for expenses for work at sites outside of main site in accordance with NCDOT travel policy.

. The candidate MUST be willing to work overtime as needed . Posses the physical ability and be willing to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
