IN057: Oracle Developer with OOAD, Oracle 9i/10g, reports, queries, summary tables, PL/SQL, PVCS, and PERL

Mandatory Requirements
Note:  Candidates not meeting the following mandatory requirements as contained in the mini-RFP will not be considered for further evaluation:
1. An Associate’s Degree or higher
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Development
3. Minimum of 2 years experience in Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g, or higher

Desirable Experience Preferred for These Positions
Good communication and interpersonal skills:  Points for this desirable can only be awarded upon completion of an interview.  Candidates are expected to verify both mandatory and desirable experience as listed in their resume.  Please note that not all candidates will be interviewed.                                                                                       
                                                                                                                      
1. Minimum of 4 years experience developing reports and queries from a large Oracle transactional database containing over a billion rows.
2. Minimum of 4 years experience developing Summary Tables in a large Oracle transactional database.
3. Minimum of 4 years experience performing development work in Oracle 9i or Oracle 10g against a database containing over a billion rows.
4. Minimum of 4 years experience performing development work in/using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL against a database containing over a billion rows.
5. Minimum of 4 years knowledge/experience in developing and using an automated documentation system.
6. Minimum of 4 years experience managing version control and migrations using PVCS.
7. Minimum of 4 years experience performing development work using PERL to create batch executable scripts and to manipulate files and directories.

Project/Job Description:
The Welfare Reporting and Tracking System (WRTS) is a server-based system comprised of Oracle databases whose components accept files created from the mainframe WMS (Welfare Management System) and from other external sources (Department of Labor, Office of Child and Family Services, Erie County WMS, etc.).  These extracts are used to create data loads into the WRTS tables. Using the data collected, client along with its partner agencies and the local Social Services districts are provided with the information needed to maintain, monitor and track required 60-month benefits, produce State and Federal mandated reports, operational reports, ad hoc reports, notices and data for performance monitoring and strategic administrative analysis. 

The duties and responsibilities for the consultants hired for this position will include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  • Maintain existing reports and develop new SQL reports
  • Loading and linking new data to existing case data
  • Work with DA to develop new table in the WRTS database
  • Provide support to new business and IT customers who will be utilizing WRTS
  • Resolve issues and perform trouble shooting as needed.
