Scope of the project: Working under the direction of the CLIENT. The candidate will provide consulting, research and implementation and administration services related to the Oracle software infrastructure.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
- This position interfaces closely with developers to design, implement, tune, and troubleshoot databasesolutions for new development projects, enhancements to existing solutions, and implementation of purchased vendor packages.
- Ensures that proper creation, support, placement, performance and security are in place.
- develop and/or implement timely, cost effective, and high quality database solutions.
- oracle database backup and recorvery.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, complete important time sensitive tasks, adapt quickly to last minute changes and manage multiple projects.
- ability to quickly establish new, strong interpersonal relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- in-depth knowledge of oracle tools/utilities such as OEM, DataGuard, OVM, and Oracle RAC.
Required Skills (in order of Importance): Oracle database skills. working knowledge of unix platform including scripting, editor, etc. excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills. ability to work with diverse groups and work within the team environment. ability to communicate complex ideas and subjects accurately, clearly and concisely.
Public sector State or Federal government experience is Mandatory.
Preferred Skills (in order of Importance): Ability to function independently and as a team member. ability to transfer knowledge to other database administrators. Ability to learn new approved technologies and apply them.
Certifications: C, C++, JAVA, JAVA SCRIPTS, HTML, ENTERPRISE DB, ORACLE, SQL
Required Education: COMPUTER SCIENCE DEGREE
