Required:

     Prefer 2 or more years criminal justice experience.

     Prefer programming experience in Oracle DB and PL/SQL.

     Prefer programming experience with Novell eDirectory.

     At least 5 years programming experience in Java with experience

developing web services, MyEclipse development environment, Struts framework, Spring, Birt, and Google Web Toolkit (GWT).

 

 

Brief Description of Work

 

The MICJIN Admin Tool is a program used by MSP and local law enforcement agencies to manage user accounts and privileges in the Michigan Criminal Justice Information Network (MICJIN) portal environment.  The MICJIN portal is a single-sign-on environment containing criminal justice applications used by local, State, and Federal law enforcement personnel.  The Admin Tool is used to modify user records stored in a Novell eDirectory system dedicated to the MICJIN environment.  MSP has collected a list of improvements and modifications to be made to the application.  Some of the modifications are required as a result of a material weakness documented in the Internal Control Evaluation completed May, 2009.

 

Background on the work requested

 

Modifications to the Java based Admin Tool program necessary to implement the required changes documented by MSP.

 

Objectives

 

     Make modifications necessary to implement the required changes to

the Admin Tool program.

     Prepare the Admin Tool system for roll out to Test and Production

environments.

     Assist MSP in testing the application in a test environment.

     Train MSP staff in the use of the new application.

 

 

Description of the requested work, including deliverables and knowledge transfer

 

The resource will work under the direction of DTMB, and with MSP staff, to understand business needs and conduct research for improvement to the existing system.  They will review existing documents developed for improving the Admin Tool application to be used as guides in programming.

 

This work order will provide the following:

 

     Review detailed business requirements and meet with MSP and DTMB to

achieve agreement on the implementation of the requirements.

     Code required changes in the Admin Tool application.

     Perform unit testing on the application.

     Working with DTMB, package the application for deployment on test

and production environments.

     Participate in code review with DTMB staff.

     Provide knowledge transfer to DTMB staff in preparation of DTMB

taking over support of the application.

     Work with MSP and DTMB staff to assist in testing the application.

     Make programming changes necessary to remediate any bugs found

during testing.

 

Documentation as per DTMB’s SUITE process is required. User acceptance testing and all associated efforts must be included in the scope above.
