Project Manager with construction, cabling/equipment installation, networking, NEC/EIA/TIA standards and education/school experience
Location: North Charleston, SC
Duration: 3 Months
Specifically, the Contractor will provide comprehensive project management and consulting services, which will facilitate successful installation of cabling and equipment in new and renovated facilities including provision of transitional information. This project management solution should cover:
• Planning meetings to define the requirements for the equipment
• Review and approval of detailed scopes of work and timeline for installations
• Coordination of the timeline for installation of the cabling and equipment
• Oversight/supervision of the installation of the infrastructure and systems
• Certification and sign-off on completed installations.
Project Management Services
This position is responsible for overall coordination of technology activities to ensure successful relocation of Buist Academy, Charleston Progressive Academy, James Simons Elementary, Memminger School of Global Studies, Montessori Community School, and Jennie Moore/Laing swing space based on construction timelines. Project management responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
• Conduct/attend meetings with contractors, vendors and in-house IT staff
• Coordinate contractors/trades
• Review plans, drawings, schedules, etc.
• Manage major project tasks and time lines
• Conduct site inspections
• Quality Assurance
• Receive, review and approve submittals and deliverables
• Preparing/reviewing punch lists
• Conducting acceptance meetings
• Managing the Change Order/Service Order process
• Insuring quality and timeliness of installation projects
• Project Documentation as necessary
• Share expert knowledge as required
Certifications, Experience, and Skills
• Minimum of at least 3 years of successful project management in network installation projects in large K-12 school districts within the last 5 years
• Familiarity with all NEC, EIA, TIA, standards
• Direct supervisory experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• District-wide travel
