QA Tester with Borland Silk, JIRA, SharePoint, XML Schema and automation experience

Location:   Raleigh, NC 

Duration: 6 months

 

The North Carolina Department of Revenue (DOR) is seeking to fill a 6 month position for a Systems Tester to Conduct hands-on quality assurance systems testing of NC Department of Revenue software products. Responsibilities include test planning, development of test scenarios and scripts, create control and test data, execution of test cases, documentation of results and create defect reports. Testing areas include functional, systems and regression test phases. Adheres to the quality assurance methodologies, policies, processes, and procedures defined by DOR. Solution focused and methodical, careful attention to detail.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• 4 years of work related experience with emphasis in techniques and methodologies relating to software quality assurance and testing through the full systems development life cycle. 

• Experience in designing, developing and implementing test plans, test cases, and test processes for Web, data exchange, and object oriented client/server applications from requirements documentation and other specification documents.

• Experience establishing test objectives, approaches, pass/fail criteria in well defined test plans

• Experience participating in the identification, entry, tracking, reporting, and verification of defects

• Experience with software change management and version management tools.

• Ability to work within a team environment and to communicate well both orally and in writing

• Strong customer service orientation

Preferences:

• Experience with testing tools such as Borland Silk

• Experience with automation of test cases 

• Experience with JIRA, SharePoint, and XML Schemas
