The Department of Transportation is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 12 month) senior software development position to be part of the development team for the NCDOT Prioritization 3 project (P3) assigned to the NCDOT Web Services Section.

Major duties include: 

• Analyze, design, code, debug, and document software, including interface components, graphical screens, reports, and high-level logic for system control 

• Participate in all phases of the software development cycle 

• Work with the entire software engineering team to ensure development conforms to performance optimization and interoperability standards and requirements

• Assist in definition of development activities, estimates and schedule including technical/functional specifications and system architecture/data models

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in design and development of complex UI/Web Enterprise applications

• Minimum seven (7) years of experience in Object Oriented Analysis, Design, Programming (web-based enterprise applications - C#/ASP.NET, HTML, Javascript, JQuery) 

• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle 10g/11g, SQL Server 2005/2008) and data extraction tools (PL/SQL)

• Previous experience with Visual Basic 6.0, Active Server Pages (ASP), COM/COM+, XML, XSLT, SOAP, UDDI, WSDL, and other web-related technologies

• Experience in web application development and tools (IDE’s, debuggers, prototype, UI testing tools)

• Experience with full product life-cycle from scope to customer release
