The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking a Business Analyst / Tester contractor for an (approximately 9 month) engagement on the Department''s Prioritization 3.0 project. This project is to implement an application that includes .NET, GIS, and Sharepoint components, as well as complex interfaces with external applications. Part of the application will be developed in-house and part will be developed by a vendor. The Business Analyst will be responsible for creating use cases from the requirements document, assisting with detail design activities, writing system test cases, executing the test cases, and assisting as needed with user acceptance testing and writing user documentation. The individual must have proven experience with writing use cases, developing test documents, and testing web applications with complex interfaces across technology platforms.
• Experience with the specific technologies mentioned above is a plus
Required skills:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience testing business web applications
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience writing use cases and other business analyst tasks
• Strong, demonstrated documentation skills (use cases and test cases)
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in testing complex business applications across technologies
• Strong Microsoft Suite experience (e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Ability to organize/manage own work and meet a pre-determined schedule of deliverables
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at a given time
Preferred Skills:
• GIS applications knowledge, including experience testing GIS integrated with other applications
• Experience writing user documentation
• Experience working with end users on User Acceptance Testing
