The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is seeking to fill a short-term (approx. 1 year) contractor assignment to perform systems analysis and development activities to support the NC WISE to PowerSchool migration project and ensure UERS compliance. The associated areas require a unique and specific set skills, knowledge and experience that is not available in current agency personnel, particularly in the area of UERS application software architecture and associated development skills. Key responsibilities include:

1.Review functional and technical requirements for clarity. 

2.Research and analyze existing business documents and processes, including forms, reports and assist in making recommendations. 

3.Participate in gap analysis and business rule identification and validation. 

4.SQL and PL/SQL development.

5.SQL tuning using standard Oracle tools.

6.Development in Oracle 10g. 

7.Resolve any application issues found in functional, performance, regression or acceptance testing. 

8.Document design specifications and system architecture in accordance with NC DPI standards. 

9.Create and maintain stored procedure, packages functions, procedure, views materialized views and triggers.

10.Unix shell scripts development for patch process. 

11.Source code tool-Toad/PLSQL developer. 

12.Work with XML and Java based software packages to resolve migration issues.

13.Work with html coding to implement needed changes

14.Analyze current reporting needs to be addressed in the migration, contributing to the solution.

 

Required:

Java

Experience creating and maintaining stored procedures, package functions, procedures, views,materialized views and triggers

Unix Shell Scripts development for batch process

Data management source code tools-specifically

PLSQL developer

Preferred: 

Knowledge of the architecture and direct experience in the North Carolina Student Information System (NC WISE)

eSIS

UERS (WebApps, Reporting, Workflow, etc.)

Reporting Hub

Agency /LEA data and extracts

SIS data business rules

Data analysis

SQL and PL/SQL

SQL tuning using standard Oracle tools

Development in Oracle 10g

Working experience with HTML, XML and Java based software packages
