The Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is in need of Cisco Infrastructure consulting assistance for maintenance, support, upgrades, configurations and implementation of new components and devices for Cisco hardware/software.
Responsibilities Expected of the Selected consultant:
- The Respondent must have experience implementing and supporting Cisco equipment.
- The consultant will provide updated documentation for changes to the basic configuration of Cisco equipment.
- The consultant will keep all DEED documents in an encrypted drive (PGP, GPG, TrueCrypt or PointSec).
- The consultant will be responsible for completing all deliverables within the agreed-upon time
- The consultant will develop a work-plan for completing the deliverables. The consultant will review the workplan with the DEED’s Project Manager and Technical Lead before beginning work on the deliverables.
Required minimum qualifications such as:
- 1 year of installation and configuration of Cisco hardware in a distributed/clustered environment.
- Experience in training clients on configuring Cisco hardware.
- 2 years of experience installing and configuring Cisco hardware in a government environment.
Cisco Infrastructure Routing Configuration at First Bank for DMZ’s
Tasks
Analysis and Design of Cisco Layer Three Routing at DEED headquarters required for Installation on New “Head End” Firewalls.
Assistance with Cisco Core Router Configuration and VLAN Creation needed for new Firewall Cluster at DEED Headquarters.
Work with Firewall Consultants to integrate new Firewall Cluster into Cisco Infrastructure.
Test and Certify Cisco Core Router Configuration and Local and Wide Area Network connectivity with Remote Sites and within DEED Encryption Domain.
Deliverables
Transfer of Knowledge on Cisco Core Router Configuration and Infrastructure modifications required to implement new Firewall Cluster.
Documentation of FNB Cisco Core Router Configuration.
Documentation of Cisco Infrastructure and Firewall Integration.
Cisco Software Monitoring/Configuration Tools
Tasks
Assist Deed with install, Configuration and Best Practice Configuration of Monitoring/Configuring DEEDs Infrastructure.
Consolidate 2 CiscoWorks Servers
Continue TACACS Implementation
Deliverables
Documentation and Recommendations to include the following Software Platforms, ACS, NCS, DCNM CiscoWorks, Observer.
DEED Cisco Infrastructure Redesign of Access Closets
Tasks
Analysis DEEDs current Access Layer Infrastructure, recommend changes.
Connect Access closets to Nexus Infrastructure
Deliverables
Documentation of Assessment and Evaluation Findings and Recommendations to include creating two separate Cisco Switch Stacks in several Access Closets and also connect Access Switches directly to Nexus 5K’s
DEED 6509 Decommission Project
Tasks
Analysis DEEDs current Core Layer Infrastructure, recommend a process for removal of the Cisco 6509’s.
Deliverables
Documentation of Assessment and Evaluation Findings and Recommendations
Move all DEED devices from the Cisco 6509’s to the new Nexus equipment.
DEED Cisco Infrastructure Assessment and Recommended Upgrade Path
Tasks
Analysis, Evaluation, and Assessment of DEED Cisco Infrastructure to include capacity, performance, and device life cycle.
Assessment of requirements for VMWare Environment, and Voice over IP Phones.
Evaluate and recommend Cisco IOS / Firmware upgrades for Cisco Switches to also include Nexus 1000v.
Deliverables
Documentation of Assessment and Evaluation Findings and Recommendations, including upgrade or replacement of Cisco equipment based on performance and/or hardware life cycle.
DEED Cisco Infrastructure Troubleshooting, Diagnosis, and Configuration Assistance
Tasks
Emergency Troubleshooting Assistance when required.
Ad hoc requests for assistance with troubleshooting, diagnosis, analysis, and problem resolution when incidents or faults occur within DEED Infrastructure that require Cisco Consultant expertise.
Assist with Cisco IOS / Firmware Upgrades when necessary.
Deliverables
Transfer of Knowledge on Problem Resolution steps.
Documentation of problem, the cause, and resolution.
Documentation of Cisco IOS / Firmware versions.
Documentation of Cisco IOS / Firmware Upgrade Procedures.
