Network Security Engineer (CCIE) with firewalls, catalyst 6500, FWSM, ACE, HSRP, Spanning-tree, 802.1q, QoS, Ether-Channel, project management, documentation, MS Office/Visio, and government experience

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
 1.Review existing firewall implementation (hardware/software/configurations)
 2.Assess agency security requirements, solution coverage, and deficiencies (gap analysis)
 3.Review current security industry trends as they relate to firewall technologies
 4.Recommend firewall replacement options with consideration of existing security architecture and equipment
 5.Create documentation surrounding the firewall recommendation 
 6.Recommend and document the project for replacing the firewall infrastructure (e.g.phases)
 7.Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly redundant enterprise networking and security solutions.
 8.Provide technical consulting design, implementation, and troubleshooting on Cisco networking and security solutions.
 9.Perform thorough and comprehensive project planning and management.
10.Utilize industry best practices to ensure the highest level of systems availability, security, and mahageability.
11.Provide and maintain through, detailed, and comprehensive documentation for all network and network security designs and solutions.
12.Design and coordinate the installation of AOC data communications equipment connected to the AOC wide area network and ensure VoIP interoperability.
13.Function as the top tier expert in design, application, and deployment of network security solutions.
14.Provide cross functional guidance to Network Infrastructure teams to ensure successful implementation of projects. 

Required Skills:
•This Positon or contractor must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Requires extensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocols; firewall technologies; routing and switching; and data center switching and security infrastructure and associated technologies: Catalyst 6500, firewall services modules (FWSM), application content engine (ACE), HSRP, spanning-tree, 802.1q, Quality of Service (QoS) and Ether-Channel
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a small project team is a must. This includes the ability to serve as a contributing engineer or as the managing engineer on a project.
•Strong project management skills are highly desired.
•strong documentation skills - example work must be provided. 
 NOTE: Offeror should submit 2-3 samples demonstrating documentation skills of propsed individual or personnel.
•Proficiency with Microsoft office applications including the use of Visio for diagrams is required.
•Enterprise vendor firewall (e.g. CCIE) certification or equivalent security industry experience is strongly preferred (e.g. 6-8 years of experience in large networking enviroments with enterprise-class data center firewalls).

Preferred skills: 
•Graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in computer science, information technology, or related field and two years of related work experience; or graduation from a technical school with a major in a computer science field and four years of experience in the computer science field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Any combination of the following certifications is highly desirable:
 (Cisco) CCIE, CCNP,CCSP
 (Checkpoint) CCSA, CCSE
 other enterprise vendor firewall certification.
 CISSP
