Description:
North Carolina’s Department of the Secretary of State is seeking to fill a short term (approx 1 -2 month contractor assignment) the primary purpose of this
temporary position is to act as Networking/Technology Support Manager for the department while a permanent employee is recruited and hired.
Responsibilities and Duties:
•Troubleshooting and maintaining a secure state-of-the-art network and the availability of the IT infrastructure for the department
•Training, coaching, and managing other technical support personnel
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
•IT infrastructure environment
•Local area networks (LANs)
•Active Directory
•RIVERBED WAN optimizers
•VPNs
•CISCO PIX firewalls, CISCO network appliances (switches and routers)
•Intrusion detection system
•PATCHLINK software vulnerability and patch management
•GroupWise 8.x e-mail system
•GWAVA e-mail anti-virus, M+ Guardian e-mail spam and content filtering
•Messaging Architects e-mail archiving system
•BARRACUDA Internet activity monitoring appliance
•SYMANTEC anti-virus protection and SYMANTEC Backup Exec
•Windows Enterprise Server 200x, Windows XP/7 Professional desktops
•LINUX server, EMC storage platform, and other shared hardware and network services
In addition a working knowledge of GroupWise 8.x administration in a LINUX environment is essential as well as experience supervising and assisting technical
support staff and managing priorities.
Required Skills:
•Minimum of four (4) years experience supporting LANS, Active Directory, GroupWise e-mail, LINUX, Windows Enterprise Server 200x, Windows XP/7 professional
desktops, CISCO firewalls and switches, SYMANTEC Backup Exec, HP printers, EMC storage platforms
Preferred:
•CISSP, CNE, MCSE certifications.
