Senior Cobol Programmer/Developer with Mainframes Architect with CICS, DB2, web technologies, COTS integration, and government experience

Description:

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Project Management Office is seeking a short term (12 month maximum) contractor. This resource will be utilized on an existing project within DOT. This position will manage assigned tasks and timelines and lead the technical effort.

Main responsibilities & Duties:

•Interact with DOT enterprise architecture

•Understand and provide guidance for the overall technical solution

•Oversee integration effort of complete solution. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

Required:

•Minimum of ten (10) years experience with developing and implementing technical architecture solutions that incorporate multiple legacy and new technologies (mainframe, web based, etc.)

Experience With The Following:

•IBM Mainframe operating systems

•Online (CICS) and database technologies (DB2/other)

•Onboarding COTS solutions and integrating them with existing solutions

•Addressing and resolving complex technical and infrastructure issues

•Developing and presenting technical specifications

•Reviewing and evaluating vendor proposals for technical requirements

•Developing architecture documents on an enterprise level

•Strong communication skills both (written, verbal)

•Strong analytical and conceptual skills

•Demonstrated experience working with large project teams and multiple vendors

•Microsoft Suite experience (e.g.Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

•Experience with state or county government IT technical architecture projects

•Experience working with multiple business units across large diverse geographic area
