VB Programmer with Oracle, PL/SQL, Busienss Objects/Crystal Reports, and government/child welfare experience Location: Lansing MI

• Must have 3 years recent experience coding in Visual Basic 6
• Must have 3 years recent experience using Oracle databases
• Must have 3 years recent experience coding with SQL and PL/SQL
• Must have a proven track record of delivering code in required project timeframes
• Work as a member of a team comprised of other programmer/analysts and user analysts.
• Preferred experience with Business Objects and/or Crystal Reports
• Must have 2 years of experience designing computer automation solutions to create/modify systems that will efficiently respond to the entities, tasks and processes defined during the analysis phase.
• Must have 2 years of experience testing and debugging computer code using different techniques based on system complexity.
• Must have 2 years of experience develop/modifying documentation to accurately define system capabilities/uses.
• Preferred Experience with SOM SUITE Methodology
• Preferred Experience with the SWSS Legacy system and/or Child welfare Policy Description of the requested work, including deliverables and knowledge transfer
The IT Programmer/Analyst will work on the support the Services Worker Support System (SWSS) application. SWSS is used by DHS workers statewide to manage Child Welfare including case management and payment authorizations. The Children Protective Services, Foster Care, Juvenile Justice, and Adoption cases and payments are tracked through this system. This system interfaces with the DHS Bridges eligibility application. The settlement of the Children’s Rights lawsuit requires changes to the SWSS application to capture additional information and create reports. Changes are needed to SWSS to allow it to continue to function correctly and ensure accurate data is captured. The children services payrolls need to be incorporated into the SWSS application. Federal Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) certification is dependent on the application development of SWSS being completed. This contractor will augment current staff to complete the overall project.
