Description:

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) CDL Medical Certification project team is seeking a short term (7 month maximum) contractor. The main responsibilities of this position are the design and development of major enhancements to a mainframe system.

 

Job responsibilities are:

• Writing program specifications

• Coding new programs and enhancements to existing programs

• Test case preparation and execution

• Deployment

• Documentation and transition of knowledge to the support team

• Debugging and execution of all levels of testing, Including: unit, system, integration and user acceptance testing and documentation of results

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

Required:

• Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in the following:

• Technical mainframe analysis

• Design and development for information systems in a batch and online environment

• MVS COBOL programming

• DB2 programming

• CICS

• TSO/ISPF

• MVS/JCL

• Test planning and execution

 

Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in the following:

• Participating in the documentation of information technology application projects

• Microsoft Suite experience (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational and presentation skills

• Graduation from a four (4) year college or university

 

Preferred:

• Experience with Endevor, Intertest, ZEKE, FTP and BMS/GT
