Monitor large-scale database and transactions processing systems; Implement database file changes, monitor and implement performance enhancements and recovery changes; Design and create database systems and related processes; Monitor resource utilization and provide technical guidance to users.
Assist technical personnel with accessing the MDHS ADABAS databases; Maintain and customize models used in the JAWS system, and assist in the implementation of new Construct versions; Assist in developing disaster recovery contingency plans and annual testing; Provide backup support for RACF and Natural security administration; Prepare monthly utilization reports for cost allocation; Provide lead database administration and management services to all computerized applications operating in the agency; Provide optimization and fine tuning services to ensure peak performance of the databases; Design/update, document, and implement recovery procedures for databases; Design, create/update processes and procedures to ensure that backup, recovery and disaster procedures are in place to support the Agency’s business resumption procedures and operating policies; and Provide overall technical support, consultation services to other MIS team members on new initiatives or enhancement projects and provide on- call DBA support as needed.
