The duties of the senior programmer analyst that will be responsible for Geographic Information System (GIS) data and information quality management include at a minimum, the following tasks:

Create and maintain a geocoding database to be used to validate addresses, and employ best practices, data assessment analysis, and data quality cleansing techniques; Develop and maintain a GIS web-server where may layers can be projected; Geocode presented data [such as Hurricane Katrina EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) victims]; Geocode all points of service, including household composition, thereby displaying these points on a map, i.e., children in custody identity module, support infrastructure, service points, etc.; Prepare Arcview for projection shapfiles to be projected on the GIS web-server; Develop programs and scripts that will scrub data to resolve county information based on geodata; Perform matching/consolidation and continuous monitoring processes/ techniques including transitional data cleansing techniques; Develop a Google map of MDHS locations for public use; Gather useful geodata for better visualization of relationships; Prepare and maintain Arcview shapes of MDHS locations; and Implement data standardization tools and related processes, interactive and accurate updates of data and employ best practices.
