 System Administrator (MCSE) with LANDesk admin, Windows admin, Linux admin and Government experience

 

Location: Raleigh NC

Duration: 6 months

Positions: 1

 

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is currently seeking a short-term (6 month) Server Analyst to perform the following

tasks:

1.Assist in the migration of LANDesk support and knowledge transfer from current seat management vendor 2. Assist in the testing vendor supplied procedures and standards for LANDesk administration and the revision/development of new documentation as appropriate for use by DHHS support staff 3. Provide LANDesk administration, including upgrading of LANDesk Management Suite and Asset Lifecycle Manager server software 4. Responsible for server operating system, maintenance patches, configuration files, system scripts, log files, etc. for supported services and servers 5. Perform system analysis, performance tuning and capacity planning 6. Install and tailor systems hardware and software to meet operational and business needs 7. Analyze and design server hardware and software to meet operational and business needs 8. Transfer knowledge and transition LANDesk administration and server support activities to state support staff 9. Provide status reports to technical lead 10. Other projects as assigned by management

 

Required:

Minimum 2 years experience in the following areas:

1. LANDesk Management Suite administration 2. Windows server support

 

Preferred:

1. Linux server support

2. LANDesk Asset Lifecycle Management administration highly preferred 3. State Government experience

 

Other Required Experience/Skills:

1. MCSE Certification

2. Excellent written and oral communication skills 3. Ability to assist in the development and testing of procedures and standards for LANDesk and server support 4. Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette 5. Attention to detail 6. Ability to perform diagnostics on software and/or hardware 7. Ability to resolve routine and non-routine problems independently and in consultation with techncial lead, peers and vendors
