The client6 is seeking a short-term (approx 6 month) User Experience Designer contractor for its Agency Website Redesign and Restructuring project. The selected candidate will perform website analysis and design tasks and will prepare supporting documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
. Work closely with the Lead Information Architect to gather requirements to reorganize, deliver, publish internal and public-facing content . Actively participate in group discussions to ensure accurate content, usability, site flow, search, presentation, etc. requirements and goals of users and stakeholders are captured, documented and included in the redesign of the website . Collaborate with the Lead Information Architect to identify metadata & taxonomy requirements . Prepare detailed user and functional requirement documents . Work closely with the Lead Information Architect to analyze content and website analytics - identify the appropriate environment for content (intenet, intranet, other), ensure pertinent data & statistics are available to design the new information structure . Collaborate with Lead Information Architect and project team members to define criteria for categorizing content for internet, intranet or other content group . Prepare scoping, inventory & metadata documentation for content migration . Contribute significantly to the creation of the high-level site architecture for the internet and intranet platforms serving as a blueprint upon which all other aspects of the project are built . Employ content strategy best practices, incorporate user experience research, usability, UI/design & brand standards into architecture . Incorporate key message themes, topics, and audience requirements into site structure and design . Assist Lead information Architect in researching, developing and implementing search strategies for site content . Document the information architecture with site maps, site flow diagrams, wireframes, user profiles and any other documentation that clearly and effectively defines the new structure of the site and conveys how it will work . Develop all necessary system design documentation, to include but not limited to: functional requirements, detail design document, storyboarding, user interface designs, site maps, site flow diagrams, wire frames, usability test plans, etc.
. Create test plans and conduct usability testing on wireframes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Required:
. Minimum 3 (three) years of content-focused business analysis experience related to web or intranet applications . Minimum 3 (three) years of experience gathering user requirements and developing detail design documentation . Minimum 3 (three) years of content analysis experience and analyzing web analytics, data, including behavior analysis and site usage reports . Minimum 3 (three) years of experience in developing website definition and design documentation . Minimum 3 (three) years of experience with the following SharePoint
features: Workflow, Business Data Catalog, Content Deployment, and Localization . Ability to write clear, concise, detailed requirements . Experience with user interfaces, image optimization, scripting, web accessiblity standards, design & development standards, and cross- platform issues . Web 2.0 concepts and methods are essential . Demonstrated knowledge of principles of web design and user-centered design principles and practices . Excellent verbal and written communication skills . Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
Preferred:
. 4-year degree in HCI (Human Computer Interaction), graphic/visual design, or related field or equivalent work a plus . Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery and Prototype . Knowledge of W3C recommendations, accessiblity issues, and best practices . Experience in Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash (with Action Script) . Talent for synthesizing research, market trends, competitive data, and other inputs into concrete product ideas
