SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
Working under the direction of the Applications Development Section, candidate will provide expertise in requirements gathering; applications design and development; database design; applications security; and the software development life cycle (SDLC).
The Enterprise Data Architect requested under this SOW must have an in- depth knowledge of all aspects of SDLC processes; Websphere, Rails, .NET, and JBOSS, environments; Java, Ruby, and VBScript languages; Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and DB2 databases; and Redhat LDAP Directory Server. The Enterprise Data Architect requested under this SOW must work in a standard development environment, testing environment, continuous build and integration, application deployment and rollback and all other aspects of a complete app/dev hosting environment. The candidate must be able to also deliver specific upgrades and enhancements to J2EE, .NET, ASP, and Ruby on Rails based applications.
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with application teams to understand, document, define
development processes, code, and maintain applications in their environment.
• Work with application teams to establish a roadmap for a new
comprehensive app/dev service delivery environment.
• Maintain documentation of all steps taken during the engagement.
• Assist in the design of new functionality as additional requirements
are identified by customers.
• Communicates effectively with technology staff and business
stakeholder.
• This position will report directly to the Internal Application
Section manager and may work in conjunction with other contractor(s) and staff in the Design and Development phases.
• Provides status reports regularly to the Internal Applications
Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS (ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
1. Five years J2EE with Struts framework (version 1.1) development
experience.
2. Five years experience of JAVA (version 1.5 or above).
3. Three years knowledge of Concurrent Versions System (CVS).
4. Five years knowledge of the Websphere (version 6.1 or above)
application servers and environment.
5. Five years knowledge of JDBC connectivity from Application server
to Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Server, and DB2 databases.
6. Five years experience in configuration management, including
continuous build/integration, testing lifecycle and application deployment, versioning and automated rollback.
7. Five years knowledge of SSL.
8. Five years experience in J2EE application deployment.
9. Proven ability to deliver high-quality results.
10. Experience in the development of project documentation (functional
specifications, technical specifications, test plans, etc.)
11. Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
(with all levels of the organization) and a very good command of the English language.
12. Ability to work with diverse groups and work within the team
environment.
13. Ability to communicate complex ideas and subjects accurately,
clearly and concisely.
14. Ability to transfer knowledge to developers and functional teams.
15. Proven organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to build
and maintain partnerships within different business units.
16. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, complete important time
sensitive tasks, adapt quickly to last minute changes and manage multiple projects.
PREFERRED SKILLS (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
1. Three years knowledge of Redhat LDAP.
2. Two years knowledge of the VBScript and Ruby programming languages.
3. One year knowledge of the JBOSS (version 5) application
environment.
4. Two years knowledge of the Rails and .NET environment.
5. Ability to communicate and gather requirements from customers.
