Description:
The Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking a short term (approx. 12
month) contractor for a Mid to Senior Level .Net Developer as part of the NC DOT Web Services Team to independently design, code, and test web- based applications. This group is looking for a .NET Developer with strong C# skills, has the ability to create working prototypes from graphic layouts, paper prototypes, and/or wireframes, and has experience working on public facing business web applications.
Duties Include:
. Designing, developing, and unit testing applications . Meeting and adhering to programming standards throughout project lifecycle . Following project schedules and assignments . Clearly Communicating status reports, in verbal and written form . Collaborating as a dedicated team member and demonstrating the ability to clearly communicate with other team members . Designing and coding for websites and extensive working knowledge of website development from initial concept to final build-out and implementation including managing multiple project assignments of moderate size and complexity.
. Working independently or cooperatively as a member of a team . Prioritizing tasks according to current project deadlines . Interacting with other developers, designers, business teams, and end-users.
. Consulting with clients and providing input and recommendations to management.
Required skills:
. Minimum of (5) five years of ASP.Net/C# web development, including versions 2.0 and 3.5 . Strong experience with front end web development tools, including AJAX, C#, ASP.Net, JavaScript, XML, DHTML, SOAP, CSS, HTML, web 2.0, SQL, MSSQL, AJAX . Strong experience working with SQL Server databases . Experience developing a public facing web application, preferably a high traffic one
