Project:
The ICD-10 Planning Project will prepare client to migrate to a major new
revision of international medical coding standards. The project will include
evaluating and updating medical policies; updating reimbursement
methodologies; identifying required system changes; updating fraud and abuse
detection and prevention strategies; building an implementation plan and
estimating implementation costs; and providing training and outreach for
agency personnel and Medicaid providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ICD-10 Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning phase
for client' migration to ICD-10. The ICD-10 PM will manage cost, schedule,
scope, and quality of all activities and deliverables. The PM will manage a
small team, and may oversee vendor support activities associated with the
project.

Duties include:
.       Building a project plan and executing to that plan.
.       Managing project expenses within the allocated budget.
.       Managing project risks and issues.
.       Ensuring that all deliverables and activities are completed with
high quality and in a timely fashion.
.       Reporting on project status and strategies orally and in writing.
.       Providing advice on ICD-10 in general, and on strategies associated
with migrating from ICD-9 to ICD-10
.       Coordinating with the legacy Medicaid Management Information System
(MMIS) and Medicaid Eligibility Determination System (MEDS) teams to ensure
that they concur with the ICD-10 migration strategy and will be able to
successfully implement the chosen strategy.
.       Coordinating with the Replacement MMIS team to ensure that
deliverables are timely and reusable for this project and that the data
conversion strategy is viable.
.       Other duties as assigned.

The client is seeking a leader with the information technology knowledge,
vendor management, and interpersonal skills necessary to enable success on
this high-visibility project.

REQUIRED SKILLS (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
The ICD-10 Project Manager role has three major attributes: project
management skills, people skills, and domain knowledge in healthcare
insurance and ICD-10. Candidates must display excellence in all areas.

.       Strong background in project management in a healthcare insurance
information technology environment.
.       Demonstrated successful leadership and management experience with
supervisory responsibilities.
.       Deep knowledge of healthcare insurance principles and processes.
.       Understanding of medical coding.
.       Understanding of IT development and implementation projects.
.       Vendor management experience.
.       Project planning experience, including effort estimation on
technical tasks and resource allocation.
.       Superb written and oral communications skills, including the ability
to give presentations to executive management. Strong proficiency in English
is required.
.       Impeccable integrity. This project will have very high visibility
and will impact significant expenditures of public funds. Candidates must be
confident with their abilities to make correct decisions and the courage to
speak out when necessary.
.       Willingness and ability to effectively engage with people and
organizations on a continuous basis.
.       Candidates will be required to give a PowerPoint presentation on a
topic relevant to the position. The topic will be provided at the time the
interview is scheduled, at least two days in advance.

PREFERRED SKILLS (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
.       Medical coding experience is a significant plus.
.       Clinical experience is a plus.
.       Public sector experience is a plus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
None required. Project management certification from a recognized source is
desirable. Medical coding certification would be a significant plus.
