IN135 - Data Warehouse ETL Specialist with Java, SQL, T/SQL, and Windows/MS SQL Server experience

Job Description:
1. Involve some degree of up front analysis prior to development or execution, as well as several phases of system and user acceptance testing. These tasks/skills do not include database administration support or technical infrastructure support tasks.
2. Preparing and loading of data from the past three years into the Data Warehouse using the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools.
3. Setting up and running the current system for data cleansing and matching of these files. This includes configuring the match keys with consultation from the business users and Data Warehouse team.
4. Working to resolve data records that result in exception items that cannot be loaded into the Data Warehouse.
5. Creating and executing “views” to be utilized by the staff
6. Performing database utility functions, such as SQL Server Analytical Services for OLAP , development of stored procedure, DTS, SSIS, etc. as needed for loading and analysis of data.
7. The individual will operate with very limited supervision, within standards and processes established for the Data Warehouse and Client procedures. Client systems include extremely sensitive and confidential information; position requires complete discretion and trustworthiness, as well as knowledge of federal requirements for handling of confidential data.
The individual must be customer oriented, and attentive to the needs of Data Warehouse users.
Skills required:
1. Experience and expertise in gathering and analyzing business user requirements.
2. Proficiency in Java development.
3. Experience and expertise in SQL, including development of T/SQL queries and data manipulation. Expert knowledge of databases and relational database concepts. Experience with SQL Server 2005 required.
4. Experience with Windows XP operating system and the Windows 2003/2008 server environment.
5. Experience with Data Warehouse concepts, including the use of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools and creation of data marts.
5. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with business users, management, vendors, and peers.
7. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills. Ability to complete assignments on time.
8. Understanding of deployment methodology concepts including design, build, testing, and deployment.
