Mandatory Requirements :
· The Developer will produce a new website based on a completed design and set of specifications. The site will utilize .NET technology and Umbraco, an open-source Content Management System (CMS).
Re-organizing and re-styling existing applications and components for a large-scale website. Priorities include migrating application from ASP to a .NET MVC framework, updating queries and modifying tables in a database, as well as applying a 2.0 "look and feel" and implementing validation to existing forms.
· Page creation based on existing design templates, including implementation of advanced display and form handling behavior, DOM manipulation, visual effects, AJAX posts and gets, and client-side form validation.
The candidate should be fully versed in the latest Web technologies and strategies, including:
o HTML/CSS customization and modification
o Advanced Javascript library experience
o AJAX control development
o Experience with advanced HTML/CSS and object-oriented Javascript, and familiarity with implementing the use of advanced Javascript libraries (such as Prototype or JQuery)
o ASP, ASPX, and VB development
o .NET and .NET MVC development
o Updating existing applications and creating new applications
o Creating AJAX and Flash back-ends
o Layout development (chopping HTML provided by designers);
o Template development (including XSL if required by templates);
o Application integration (application components developed within CMS framework);
o and Process/data customization (authentication; integrating data with custom databases);
· The Senior Web Developer should have at least 8 years of experience in web software development, with a specialization in web content management solutions and application architectures. Experience working with local government and/or very large non-profits is a strong plus.
