IN060: Business Architect with project management (PMP), BPR, TQM, Six Sigma, requirements, training, SDLC, process improvement and change management experience

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Duration: 18 months

Contract: W2 or 1099 Only

Hours: 35 per week

 

Client is looking for a Business Architect to assist in the evaluation, design and implementation of a vendor-supplied Special Education Student Information System (SESIS). Client is currently in the process of procuring a system which would manage the full case-cycle of a student requiring Special Education Services. 

 

Responsibilities:
The Business Architect will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

          Coordinate Client support of Document Management, Enhancement, Testing, BPR and other Business related workstreams to ensure integration with the technical related workstreams.

          Participate in enhancing ongoing enterprise architecture development, focusing on business architecture.

          Participate in, or facilitate, business process and requirement sessions to fully understand the business and functional requirements to support those requirements during the development, testing  and the implementation phase of SESIS

          Develop relevant principles, descriptions of high-level future states and guidelines relating to the creation of business processes as needed to support the integration of the Client business and technical environments

          Coordinate Technical Team's integration and support of Functional, Implementation and Test workstreams, team Lead for Test, DMS and Enhancements workstreams, deliverable reviews, liaison with Client SMEs.

          Analyze project needs, determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems that involve remote and elusive symptoms often spanning multiple environments in a business area

          Communicate status of responsibilities and escalate issues, risks and concerns to DIIT Project Management in a timely manner.

          Ensure that documentation  is captured, maintained, understood by and available to business and/or IT partners

          Oversee the vendor preparation of application training documents and review training materials. Ensure training material is up-to-date as the implementation is in phase and pilot mode and training is organized for all field users.

          Perform Special Education business knowledge transfer to SESIS team members based on participation in BPR meetings.

 She/he will work as a member of the SESIS deployment team reporting to the SESIS Project Manger with dotted-line report to the OEA.

 
Required Skills:

          Practical experience in full lifecycle software development using multiple methodologies

          Five years of business consulting that focused on process improvement

          Two years of project management experience

          Familiar with balancing cross-functional business initiatives

          In-depth experience with process redesign methods (such as business process re-engineering, Six Sigma or total quality management)

          Knowledge of all aspects of designing and constructing business processes, functions and organizational structures

          Comprehensive knowledge of facilitation and organization change management

          Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs

          Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects
